We provide person-centered home and community based programs to people from all walks of life who desire direct personal support services that empower them to self-direct their own services, make personal choices,  pursue opportunities and live independently.

TPA, Inc was established in 2005 and has operations in Middle Tennessee. We are a dynamic not-for profit company with a mission to provide quality support services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Tennessee. The purpose of our existence is to serve with dignity and advocate for the values of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We have an obligation to consistently promote these values in this Company and across communities. Because of our efforts in community service, TPA, Inc enjoys a reputation for honesty, integrity and good citizenship. We hope that all stakeholders, particularly the community will join us as we strive to build and improve upon our proud history of service to people with intellectual disabilities.

Our Company is determined every passing day to promote a feeling of understanding and respect with regards to our employees. TPA management believe that the key to our success lies in a well-trained and dedicated workforce. The quality and dedication of our staff holds our future. Sweden Kwenda, Executive Director

Sweden Kwenda, BS, MS, CMA is the Executive Director of TPA, Inc. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of TPA, Inc. Sweden holds a Bachelors degree in Business and a Master of Science in Accounting and Information Systems. He is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and he holds the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation from IMA. Sweden has over 16 years of experience working, supporting and advocating for people with intellectual disabilities. His experience involves working in various positions as a Direct Support Professional, Program Director, Finance & Operations Director and Chief Financial Officer at various companies in the social and health care industry. He  brings years of business and finance administration experience to TPA, Inc.

Bruce Newport   Program Manager

Bruce has worked in the field of social services for over two decades. He has served in management and leadership roles for organizations that provide services for homelessness, behavioral health, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. In a consulting and volunteer capacity, Bruce has also helped several area nonprofits that work with inner-city youth, veterans, and post-incarceration support. He has also volunteered as an officer for the TN State Guard in the fields of Public Affairs and Family Assistance. Bruce is a graduate of Auburn University with a major in Mass Communications and a double minor in Marketing and Educational Media.


Amanda Ellis  Human Resources Manager

Amanda Ellis is the Human Resources Manager of TPA, Inc. Amanda has over six years of experience working in the Human Resources field. Her experience involves working in various positions, including starting her career as a Direct Support Professional, working as an Emergency Medical Technician, and working in the health care industry. Amanda is a certified American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR, First Aid, and AED Instructor.

Qui Chen, AAS, BBA, MBA  Accounting Manager

Qiu Chen is the accounting manager of TPA, Inc. He has been with TPA since 2010 and has served in different capacities in the areas of Financial accounting and Funds management. QC loves his job and he is highly motivated to help and troubleshoot problems.He is full of energy, very friendly, and takes pride in helping the people supported and their families. QC is a resident of Nashville, TN and has three wonderful children and a lovely wife.
